About this Validator

This tool validates Argentine CBU (Clave Bancaria Uniforme) numbers according to the official format and validation rules established by the Central Bank of Argentina (BCRA).

The validator checks if a given CBU follows the correct structure and verifies both check digits using the official BCRA algorithm.

This validation only confirms if a CBU follows the correct format and check digit rules. It does not verify if the number is actually registered with Argentine banks.

What is an Argentine CBU?

The CBU (Clave Bancaria Uniforme) is Argentina's standardized bank account identifier that uniquely identifies bank accounts within the Argentine financial system. It's used for electronic transfers, direct debits, and other banking operations.

A CBU consists of 22 digits divided into two blocks: • First block (8 digits): Bank code (3 digits) + Branch code (4 digits) + Check digit (1) • Second block (14 digits): Account number (13 digits) + Check digit (1)

The CBU is essential for: • Receiving deposits • Making bank transfers • Setting up automatic debit payments • Each bank account has its unique CBU
